Your first dub, from listening to export

Record a scene one line at a time. You can practice, compare your delivery and save a video without creating an account.

Start with a short scene

The pack library lets you search a title, character or line and filter by genre. Before loading, check the script and duration on the pack page. Fewer lines give you less to remember while learning the controls.

For a short first session, try I, Robot - Can You: 4 lines in 0:15. Select Load this pack to fetch its media. The download size is shown before you start.

Use headphones so the reference audio does not feed back into your microphone. You can listen and read the script without granting microphone permission.

Listen, record, then listen to yourself

  1. Select Replay to hear the current line. Listen once for the words and again for the pauses and stressed syllables.
  2. Select Record. The browser asks for microphone access the first time. Allow the input you intend to use, then follow the countdown.
  3. Speak the full line at a comfortable volume. The scene gives you the timing; shouting is not a scoring shortcut.
  4. Select Your take to hear what was captured. If a word is cut off or a pause feels wrong, record that line again. The new take replaces the previous one for that line.
  5. Move to the next line when you are satisfied. You can return to earlier lines before exporting.

The three scores describe rhythm, duration and coverage. A low duration score can mean a shortened line; low coverage can indicate too many pauses within your delivery. They do not check the words or your accent. Read how scoring works before treating a number as a judgment of your performance.

If the browser never asks, or your take is silent, use the microphone troubleshooting guide. Repeatedly pressing Record will not override a blocked browser permission.

Save your video before leaving

After recording at least one line, use Export dub. Your recordings replace the lines you performed; skipped lines retain their original audio. Standard export is free and is processed on your device.

Free exports include a watermark. An eligible existing paid account can export without the site's added mark when its entitlement is confirmed. Any watermark already present in the source footage remains. A DubBooth purchase does not by itself change your account entitlements here.

Keep the tab in the foreground while the video is prepared. Wait for the download to finish, open the saved file and check that its sound is correct. Browser media support varies; if export fails, see export troubleshooting and try a recent desktop browser.

Practice takes are held in the current page. Download what you want to keep before reloading or closing it. A pack saved in your local library is not a backup of the recordings you made in a session.

Playing on a phone or tablet

Open the website directly in a recent browser. You do not need an APK or an app-store download. If controls feel cramped, try landscape orientation or the stage's fullscreen button.

Allow microphone access for the site and in your device's privacy settings. Keep the screen awake during recording and export. Switching Bluetooth inputs mid-session can change which microphone is used; replay a short test take after changing headphones.

Compatibility depends on the device and browser. If recording or video export cannot finish on your phone, try a desktop browser. Installing the website to your home screen does not add media capabilities that the browser lacks.

Import a pack or make a new one

Already have a compatible pack ZIP? Open Your Packs and select it. The import happens in your browser, which stores the extracted pack for later use. The media files are not uploaded. Successful GameBanana-format imports send the pack title and format for library planning, as explained in the privacy policy.

A plain MP4 is not a prepared pack. To turn a video you own or have permission to use into timed lines, use DubBooth from the header. That separate service uploads the chosen video for processing and explains its account and credit requirements. You can bring the resulting pack here to practice.

Accounts, sharing and privacy

Ordinary practice needs no account. Challenge features use sign-in; a challenge creator can explicitly upload a dub video. That is separate from local recording and export. Review the sharing confirmation before making a video public, and respect the original scene's rights when publishing a saved dub.

For the full data details, read Privacy. If a step fails, contact support with the pack URL, browser and the step that stopped working.
