What stays on your device, what you choose to send, and the limited site data we use.
Your recordings stay on your device by default
Recording, scoring and video export all happen in your browser. Microphone takes are not uploaded automatically, and there is no background sync of recordings. There is one exception: a challenge creator can explicitly upload their dub video so it plays on the challenge page. That upload happens only when you take the confirmation step yourself — no pre-checked box and no silent upload. Everyone else — anyone accepting or playing a challenge — never uploads anything; their takes stay on their device the same as always. Uploading is covered by the UGC section of the terms.
If you upload a challenge video
The video is hosted on its challenge page for as long as you keep it there. We keep it until you delete it or delete your account, whichever comes first; deleting either one purges the video from our storage, not just from the page. There is no public listing of uploaded videos — a challenge page is only found by whoever has its link.
Minors
Uploading a challenge video requires you to be 13 or older; the terms cover this. If a video was uploaded by someone under 13, or a parent or guardian wants one removed, email support@choicervoicer.co and we will delete it and purge our storage.
The microphone
The browser asks for permission the first time you press Record, and only then. The site holds the microphone while you are on the Stage and releases it when you leave. You can revoke permission at any time from the padlock in the address bar.
Accounts are optional
Playing needs nothing to sign up for. Creating or accepting a challenge uses Google sign-in, which is the only account this site has — it gives us the name, email and profile photo Google shares for that purpose, and nothing else. While you are signed out, some pages load Google's own sign-in prompt (Google Identity Services), which sets Google cookies under Google's policies; it never loads once you are signed in. If you send a bug report or feature request while signed in, it also includes technical details for debugging (your browser's user agent, the page URL, viewport, app version, and, for bug reports, the pack and clip you were on) that only site admins can see.
Analytics
We use a self-hosted Plausible installation, Microsoft Clarity and Google
Analytics to understand which pages are useful and where the site is hard
to use. Google Analytics is configured with analytics and advertising
storage denied, Google Signals disabled and advertising personalization
disabled, so this site does not let it set analytics or advertising
cookies. Its tag loads when a page opens so the visit can be counted. We
remove private query-string values, such as project and feedback IDs, from
the page address sent to Google; campaign tags such as utm_source
are retained. These services can receive the page visited, referring site,
browser and device details, approximate location, and page interactions.
They do not receive your microphone recordings or the video files you
choose for the pack tool.
The small cookie and privacy notice is informational. Selecting “Got it” remembers that you have seen it in this browser; it does not enable, disable or change analytics collection. Clearing this site's browser storage will reset that reminder.
Advertising
Two advertising networks run here, split by country, and never both for the same visit: our server tells the page which country a visit comes from, and the page loads the one network that country gets. No ad ever sits inside a take, a score or an export.
Visitors in Russia see one full-screen ad from the Yandex Advertising Network before their first take of a pack, and nothing else. Where that ad loads, Yandex may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses and other device identifiers to deliver, measure and, where permitted, personalize it, as described in Yandex's privacy policy. Third parties Yandex works with to fill it may also place or read cookies in your browser or use web beacons.
Visitors outside Russia may see display ads from Nitro (Nitro's privacy policy) on the home page, the pack library and pack pages: on wide screens, one ad in each side margin. The pack library and pack pages can also show a video ad that plays muted in a corner of the screen on tablets and computers, and, on phones, a bar pinned under the site header and one small banner further down the page. Nitro and the advertising partners that bid to fill those spaces may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses and other device identifiers to deliver, measure and, where permitted, personalize ads. In the EU, the EEA and the UK, Nitro asks for your consent first, and a link at the bottom of those pages reopens your choices at any time.
California privacy rights
Where Nitro's ads load, identifiers (such as cookie and device IDs and your IP address), internet activity on the page (such as the pages viewed and interactions with ads) and approximate location can be disclosed to advertising partners to show and measure ads. Under California law that may count as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information for money, and none of it includes your recordings or your account details.
California residents can opt out with the “Do Not Sell My Personal Information” link at the bottom of the home page and of this page, and have the right to know what personal information we hold, to have it corrected or deleted, and not to be treated differently for using any of these rights. Email support@choicervoicer.co for any request other than the opt-out.
What is stored on your device
Your microphone takes are held in the page while you play. They are not sent to our server unless you explicitly upload a challenge video. Reloading or closing the page discards these session recordings, so export anything you want to keep.
Imported pack files and their metadata are saved in your browser's local database (IndexedDB) so you can play them again through Your Packs. This includes the extracted video, audio and timing files; they are not uploaded as part of local ZIP import. You can remove a pack through Your Packs or clear this site's browser storage. The browser can also remove local data when storage is limited.
Successful GameBanana-format imports report the pack title and format to our server for library planning. The report record includes a receipt time and does not store your account ID or IP address. The imported media stays on your device. We also use local browser storage for preferences such as your selected microphone and last pack, and to avoid repeatedly reporting the same import.
Video-to-pack creation and existing projects
The AI Video to Pack link in the header opens DubBooth, a separate service for new video-to-pack creation. Files you choose to upload there are handled under DubBooth's privacy policy and account settings. Your account, projects and credits here are separate; following that link does not itself transfer your existing projects or microphone recordings.
Projects previously created on Choicer Voicer remain accessible through Packs you made here. Their source videos and generated pack files are stored privately under your account here until you delete the project. Processing for those projects used our AI providers to transcribe speech and separate voices from background audio. This is separate from a local ZIP import or a microphone recording made while playing.
Payments
New purchases on Choicer Voicer are currently disabled. For existing purchases and subscription billing, the provider shown on your receipt is Waffo or Stripe. Waffo acts as merchant of record for its sales; Stripe processes payments on our behalf where used. Card details are entered on the provider's pages, not stored on our servers. Billing uses your account identifier and email address, and we retain transaction records and credit movements to manage the account, billing and refunds. See our refund policy for purchases made here. Purchases made on DubBooth follow that service's privacy, payment and refund policies.
Third parties
Outbound links include GameBanana source pages and the DubBooth video-to-pack service. Each destination has its own privacy policy. A link may carry referral campaign tags identifying this site as the source; that does not move your existing account, files or credit balance to the destination.
