About this scene
A man puts on a song to set a mood and gets completely upstaged by it. The first eight lines are seduction — “I wont bite, unless you ask me to” — and then the radio starts and Latrell abandons the seduction entirely to sing all of it, badly and at full commitment, for the last seven. Eleven of the fifteen lines are his. The dub is really two performances that have to be the same person: the low, careful voice of the setup and the one that arrives at “Cause you know id walk a thousand miles” having forgotten there is anyone else in the car. Eighty-three seconds, and the woman he is singing at gets three lines to react.
