    About this scene

    Prince Charming asks a puppet who cannot lie where Shrek is, and the puppet talks for a minute without answering. Nine voices and thirty-six lines, but the pack is really two performances: Charming's eleven lines of losing patience, and Pinocchio's eight, which include a nine-and-a-half-second sentence made entirely of double negatives that has to come out in one breath and still sound evasive. Twenty of the thirty-five handoffs overlap — the highest proportion of anything here — so this is a scene about talking over people. Gingy sings on the good ship lollypop twice, both times under duress.
